About Umalusi
Umalusi is the Quality Council for General and Further Education and Training in South Africa. The organisation is responsible for quality assuring education provision in the General and Further Education and Training sector.
This housekeeping role supports the organisation by ensuring that workspaces, boardrooms and refreshment areas remain clean, professional and ready for meetings and daily activities.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The appointed candidate will be responsible for general housekeeping and office support duties. These include:
- Preparing boardrooms for meetings
- Ensuring boardrooms are clean and neat before scheduled meetings
- Cleaning boardrooms after meetings
- Making sure tea, coffee, milk and refreshments are replenished and ready before meetings
- Dusting work surfaces
- Replacing empty supplies where needed
- Emptying bins
- Cleaning kitchens
- Washing dishes and kitchen utensils
- Working independently and under pressure when required
- Working extended hours when needed
- Performing any other additional duties assigned when necessary
Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- At least 3 years’ working experience as a cleaner
- Knowledge of cleaning products and cleaning equipment
- Familiarity with sanitary and hygiene regulations
- Basic record-keeping ability
