Trades Available
Diesel Mechanic Training in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered mining equipment.
Auto Electrician Training in electrical systems of mining vehicles and heavy equipment, including diagnostics and repairs.
Applicants must clearly indicate which trade they are applying for.
Minimum Requirements
Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy) and Physical Science, both at least 40% (E symbol), plus two relevant N2 trade subjects, OR
Minimum N2 qualification with four relevant trade-related subjects.
Trade-specific subjects:
Diesel Mechanic: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Engineering Drawing, Diesel Trade Theory/Motor Trade Theory.
Auto Electrician: Mathematics, Engineering Science, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Trade Theory.
Additional requirements:
Psychometric assessments.
Willingness to work shifts, standby duties, and call-outs.
Valid Certificate of Fitness.
Valid K53 driver’s licence.
No criminal record.
Advantageous Experience
Previous mining sector experience (not compulsory but beneficial).
