Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose faults on electro-mechanical sub-assemblies using diagnostic software and test equipment.

  • Record diagnostic findings, fault codes, and root cause information.

  • Repair and refurbish assemblies (replacement, rework, recalibration).

  • Perform basic soldering and de-soldering on PCBs.

  • Test assemblies against approved specifications.

  • Maintain accurate job cards, repair histories, and traceability records.

  • Follow ESD-safe handling practices and SHEQ requirements.

  • Escalate recurring or design-related faults to the Senior Engineer.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Education:

    • Matric with Mathematics & Physical Science (essential)

    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering (N4–N6), Mechatronics, or related qualification (completed or in progress)

  • Experience:

    • 0–2 years in electro-mechanical repair, assembly, or testing

    • Exposure to soldering, test instruments, or fault-finding advantageous

  • Training: Full mentorship and diagnostic software training provided

Competencies

  • Mechanical & electronic aptitude

  • Attention to detail and disciplined fault-finding approach

  • Basic understanding of electronic circuits

  • Computer literacy and ability to use diagnostic software

  • Good communication skills for reporting and escalation
