Job Purpose
Ensure reliable and safe functioning of electrical systems, equipment, and installations.
Perform preventative and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime.
Support continuous operations in a GMP‑regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative maintenance: daily, weekly, monthly schedules
Fault finding and repairs: circuits, control panels, AC/DC drives
PLC programming and setup with engineering teams
Electro‑pneumatic systems and HVAC maintenance
Electrical installations: wiring, panels, distribution boards
Facility systems: lighting, backup power, compressors
Compliance and safety: OHSA, GMP, PPE, risk assessments
Requirements
Qualifications:
N6 Certificate in Electrical Engineering (Essential)
Trade Test Certificate as Electrician or Millwright (Essential)
Wireman’s License (Advantageous)
PLC/HVAC/MV certifications (Advantageous)
Experience:
Minimum 5 years in electrical maintenance (pharma/food/beverage industry)
Proven skills in AC/DC drives, electro‑pneumatics, PLC systems
HVAC and Medium Voltage systems experience (Advantageous)
Other:
Willingness to work shifts, standby, and emergency call‑outs
Physically fit for elevated/noisy environments
Own reliable transport
Knowledge of SANS 10142 Electrical Installation Regulations
