About the Opportunity

Sylvania Metals is seeking a qualified and experienced Electrician to join its Engineering Department at the Lannex Plant. The successful candidate will support plant operations through electrical maintenance, fault-finding, repairs, equipment servicing, and preventative maintenance activities. 

Job Purpose

The Electrician will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical and process equipment to ensure plant reliability, minimize downtime, and support safe and efficient operations. 

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

• N3 Certificate
• Recognized Electrical Trade Test Certificate
• Completed electrical apprenticeship training
• Relevant accredited technical training modules
• Practical workplace experience supported by a logbook/training record
• At least 5 years' experience in electrical maintenance or a related industrial environment
• Experience in plant operations (advantageous)
• Experience maintaining and troubleshooting slurry pumps
• Knowledge of electrical maintenance procedures and safety standards 

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will:

• Perform maintenance, servicing, inspections, and repairs on electrical systems
• Conduct preventative and planned maintenance
• Troubleshoot electrical faults and equipment failures
• Respond to breakdowns and emergency maintenance requirements
• Maintain plant electrical infrastructure
• Monitor and manage critical electrical spares and consumables
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and reports
• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures
• Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and efficiency

The position is based at the Lannex Plant, Steelpoort, Limpopo, within Sylvania Metals Eastern Operations.
