2. Minimum Requirements

To be eligible for the 2026 programme, you must meet these strict criteria:

  • Education: Grade 12 (Matric) with a pass in:

    • Mathematics (Minimum 50% / Level 4) OR Maths Literacy (Minimum 60% / Level 5).

    • English (Minimum 50% / Level 4).

  • Citizenship: South African citizens only.

  • Status: Unemployed youth (under 35).

  • SAPC Registration: Must be eligible to register with the South African Pharmacy Council (SAPC) as a Learner Basic Pharmacist Assistant.


3. Key Responsibilities

As a Learner, you will work under the direct supervision of a Tutor (Pharmacist) to perform:

  • Stock Management: Receiving, checking, and unpacking pharmaceutical stock.

  • Dispensing Support: Assisting with the labeling and assembly of medication.

  • Housekeeping: Ensuring the dispensary is clean and organized according to GPP (Good Pharmacy Practice) standards.

  • Customer Service: Assisting customers with over-the-counter (OTC) products and health-related inquiries.

  • Admin: Completing your theoretical assignments and maintaining your "Portfolio of Evidence" (PoE) for the SAPC.
