5. Important Advice for 2026
The "Millwright" Advantage: This is one of the most sought-after trades in South Africa. If you have both electrical and mechanical subjects on your N-certificate, apply for this specifically, as it offers the highest employability.
Certification Validity: Ensure your ID and qualifications are certified within the last 3 to 6 months.
Physical Submission: Since this is a "walk-in" application process, do not wait until the 15th.
Campuses may close submissions early if they reach capacity. The Engineering Fit: Since you are an Engineering Student with experience in ANSYS Maxwell and motor simulations, you are technically over-qualified in terms of theory. This works in your favor! Emphasize your desire to gain practical shop-floor experience to complement your simulation skills.
6. Why Join This SETA Programme?
Zero Cost: The training and trade test fees are fully covered by FoodBev SETA.
Trade Test: At the end of the 3 years, you will sit for your trade test to become a Red Seal Artisan.
Industry Exposure: You will likely be placed in food processing plants (like Nestlé, Coca-Cola, or Tiger Brands) for your workplace experience component.
Tip: Even though you are in Limpopo, this Gauteng-based opportunity is worth the travel because of the FoodBev SETA funding. If you get in, the stipend should help cover basic living costs in Pretoria while you train!
