Minimum Requirements

Completed N3, N4, N5, or N6 certificate in Mechanical Engineering studies (from a recognized TVET College); OR a completed Technical Matric with mechanical subjects.
Solid academic foundation in Engineering Science, Mathematics, and Mechanical Drawings.
Little to no formal experience (this is an entry-level pathway designed to build trade capacity).
High manual dexterity, a strong mechanical aptitude, and a genuine interest in working with complex physical machinery.
Excellent problem-solving, structural troubleshooting, and spatial reasoning skills.
Clear communication skills and the ability to work safely within industrial team environments.
South African citizen with a valid Identity Document (ID).

Key Responsibilities & Learning Exposure

Assisting qualified artisans with the preventative maintenance, fault-finding, and emergency repair of large-scale mechanical plant systems.
Gaining direct, hands-on exposure to heavy HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning) infrastructure, commercial pump networks, refrigeration units, and automated building management systems.
Learning to interpret complex technical mechanical blueprints, engineering drawings, and manufacturing schematic layouts.
Operating specialized workshop hand tools, diagnostic machinery, and precision measurement instruments under strict mentor supervision.
Maintaining immaculate housekeeping records, component logs, and ensuring total compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act on site.
