Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have a Grade 12 / Senior Certificate or an equivalent qualification at NQF Level 4.

A National Diploma at NQF Level 6 in one of the following fields will be an added advantage:

  • Human Resource Management
  • Human Resource Development
  • Public Administration

No experience is required for this post. However, relevant clerical or administrative experience in a training environment will be an added advantage.

Skills and Competencies Needed

Applicants should have basic knowledge and understanding of the legislative framework that governs the Public Service.

The Department is also looking for candidates with the following skills:

 Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office

Key Duties and Responsibilities

The successful candidate will provide general clerical and administrative support to the Human Resource Development unit.

Duties will include:

  • Providing general clerical support services
  • Assisting with the implementation and monitoring of the Workplace Skills Plan
  • Coordinating training logistics
  • Booking venues for training sessions
  • Preparing training materials
  • Circulating training invitations
  • Maintaining attendance registers
  • Capturing and updating HRD information on PERSAL and internal systems
  • Receiving, registering and routing correspondence
  • Maintaining HRD databases
  • Managing filing and record systems
  • Assisting with bursary, internship and learnership administration
  • Liaising with internal stakeholders about training arrangements
  • Compiling basic training reports and statistics
  • Providing general administrative support to the HRD unit
