Minimum Requirements
A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
Basic computer literacy and fundamental numerical accuracy for dealing with stock values and point-of-sale calculations.
Clear communication skills with the ability to assist diverse retail customers politely in English (multilingualism is a major asset).
High reliability, honesty, and an energetic approach to physical work.
Complete willingness to work retail trading rosters, including weekend shifts, public holidays, and early morning or late-night stock packing cycles.
Clear criminal record (standard background screening tracking applies).
Advantageous: Prior experience working in a retail supermarket environment, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) warehouse, or a customer-facing role.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Exposure
Operating electronic point-of-sale (POS) barcode cash registers and processing cash, card, and mobile transactions accurately.
Merchandising stock on retail shelves, ensuring correct price tags are displayed, and executing neat layout arrangements.
Monitoring inventory expiry dates, managing product rotation policies (First-In, First-Out), and identifying damaged goods.
Assisting within the distribution backend or stock receiving bays by offloading delivery trucks, checking invoices, and sorting stock arrays.
Providing helpful frontline customer service, answering item inquiries, and resolving packaging complaints gracefully.
Maintaining immaculate hygiene, safety cleanliness, and sanitization standards across store floors, aisles, and storage cages.
