Minimum Requirements

A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
A relevant post-matric qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Fleet Management, or an engineering/technical discipline is highly advantageous.
Minimum of 2 to 3 years of experience working as a parts administrator, storekeeper, or inventory controller within a large-scale commercial vehicle workshop or transport environment.
Deep knowledge of mechanical truck parts, automotive components, and workshop tool inventory systems.
High proficiency in specialized inventory software tracking systems (such as SAP, Syspro, or localized Fleet Management ERP platforms) along with advanced MS Excel skills.
Strong numerical accuracy, organizational skills, and rigorous administrative discipline.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively between mechanics, procurement teams, and external parts suppliers.

Key Responsibilities & Core Duties
Managing the day-to-day administrative operations of the commercial vehicle workshop parts store.
Receiving, checking, and logging all incoming heavy vehicle parts deliveries against purchase orders to ensure accuracy.
Issuing exact replacement mechanical parts and tools to workshop diesel mechanics and tracking inventory allocation logs.
Conducting regular rolling stocktakes, cycle counts, and structural audits to minimize inventory discrepancies and shrinkage.
Sourcing quotes from approved external vendors, raising purchase requisitions, and tracking delivery timelines to prevent fleet downtime.
Processing parts warranty claims, logging damaged stock returns, and maintaining neat, clean, and organized parts bins.
Capturing workshop asset records, updating maintenance tracking sheets, and compiling weekly inventory expenditure reports for management.
