Minimum Requirements
A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent NQF Level 4 qualification.
Subjects Preference: Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy is highly advantageous.
Experience: Prior experience operating point-of-sale (POS) systems, cash handling, or working in a retail customer-facing environment is beneficial but not strictly mandatory.
High proficiency in English (both verbal and written communication).
Basic computer literacy to navigate digital store systems and stock logs.
Exceptional customer service skills, phone etiquette, and an approachable personality.
Physical capability to stand for long durations, pack heavy stock crates, and move around the retail floor.
Full flexibility to operate on rotating retail rosters, including weekends, late shifts, and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities & Core Duties
Operating cash registers efficiently and accurately processing cash, card, and medical aid loyalty transactions.
Providing high-level customer service by greeting shoppers, answering product queries, and directing them to correct aisles.
Merchandising stock systematically by unpacking deliveries, checking product expiry dates, and filling shelves according to layout blueprints.
Implementing and updating promotional pricing tags, seasonal displays, and point-of-sale marketing material.
Maintaining complete order, high-level cleanliness, and sanitation guidelines across the shop floor and till points.
Assisting with standard inventory cycles, stock counts, and adhering to strict loss prevention and security protocols.
