Position Purpose
The programme aims to train candidates to operate boilers, turbines, utilities, and energy plant equipment safely and efficiently. Successful completion includes obtaining required licences, technical competencies, and operational experience.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with safe and efficient operation of energy plant equipment
Complete structured training programme and plant licences
Conduct routine inspections and monitor equipment performance
Control process parameters via Distributed Control System (DCS)
Perform start‑up, shutdown, isolation, and lock‑out procedures
Maintain accurate operational records and shift handovers
Comply with SHEQ requirements (safety, housekeeping, risk assessments)
Support continuous improvement in plant performance and energy efficiency
Candidate Requirements
Matric (Grade 12) with Maths & Physical Science OR N3 in Pulp and Paper
NQF Level 5 qualification (or currently studying towards one)
National Diploma/Degree in Engineering advantageous
Minimum 2 years’ plant experience in Energy/Boiler environment
Relevant plant licences advantageous
