Job Purpose
Respond to emergency calls and provide safe, professional intermediate medical care
Assess and manage patients according to HPCSA guidelines
Stabilise patients for safe transport
Maintain operational readiness of ambulance and equipment
Complete accurate patient documentation
Key Responsibilities
Ensure ambulance and equipment are functional and ready for deployment
Conduct routine checks and report defects or shortages
Provide emergency medical treatment within scope of practice
Monitor and record patient information and vital signs
Maintain patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Complete Patient Report Forms and clinical documentation accurately
Uphold ER24’s professional image and public reputation
Report incidents, near misses, and comply with organisational procedures
Minimum Requirements
Education: Ambulance Emergency Assistant Certificate (essential)
Experience:
Minimum 1 year EMS experience (essential)
1 year AEA experience (advantageous)
Skills:
Knowledge of HPCSA guidelines and emergency medical procedures
Patient assessment and management skills
Computer literacy (Microsoft Office)
Proficiency in English (written and verbal)
Knowledge of local healthcare facilities and travel routes
Ability to work under pressure in emergency environments
