Job Overview
VKB Engineering Services is looking for an Artisan Assistant to support maintenance and repair activities at grain handling and storage facilities. This role provides hands-on exposure to mechanical and electrical maintenance and is ideal for individuals who want to build experience in a technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist artisans with mechanical maintenance, repairs, and servicing.
- Support electrical maintenance activities under supervision.
- Help identify equipment faults and assist with troubleshooting.
- Assist with cutting, grinding, fabrication, and basic welding tasks where authorised.
- Support silo, conveyor, valve, and infrastructure inspections.
- Follow health and safety procedures and maintain good housekeeping standards.
- Travel to various VKB sites as required to assist with maintenance work.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric (NQF Level 4) or equivalent.
- A valid trade certificate will be advantageous.
- Willingness to learn and work in a technical maintenance environment.
