Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Grade 12, N3 Technical Qualification, or equivalent qualification.
- Section 26D Trade Certificate.
- Proof of completed apprenticeship.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Good English communication skills.
- 5 years of mining experience.
- 5 years of mechanised mining experience.
- Experience working in underground mining environments.
- Experience maintaining earthmoving equipment.
- Strong technical knowledge of mining machinery and equipment maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, maintenance, fault-finding, and repairs on mining equipment.
- Conduct preventative and corrective maintenance.
- Troubleshoot electrical and equipment-related faults.
- Maintain equipment reliability, availability, and performance.
- Inspect machinery for wear, damage, and operational risks.
- Assist with maintenance planning and job preparation.
- Record maintenance activities and complete technical documentation.
- Report equipment defects and recurring breakdowns.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and reliability programs.
- Ensure maintenance activities are completed according to company standards and procedures.
Safety and Compliance
The successful candidate will:
- Follow all electrical safety procedures and standard operating procedures.
- Comply with lockout, isolation, and safe work practices.
- Identify and report workplace hazards.
- Use personal protective equipment (PPE) correctly.
