Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Recognised Trade Test qualification in Fitting or a related mechanical trade.
Experience
- Completed practical training.
- Mechanical maintenance experience will be advantageous.
- Experience in a power station, boiler plant, industrial plant, or heavy engineering environment will be advantageous.
- Experience in preventative and corrective maintenance will be advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on boiler plant equipment.
- Inspect, maintain, repair and service mechanical equipment.
- Conduct fault-finding and repairs.
- Complete planned maintenance and breakdown maintenance activities.
- Maintain maintenance records, inspection reports and job cards.
- Comply with Eskom safety, environmental and operational standards.
- Participate in shutdown, outage and emergency maintenance activities.
Skills and Competencies
- Mechanical fitting and repair skills.
- Equipment inspection and fault-finding ability.
- Knowledge of boiler plant maintenance principles.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and maintenance instructions.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Valid driver's licence.
Additional Requirements
- May be required to complete assessments and internal training.
- Must comply with all Eskom safety and quality requirements.
- May be required to participate in standby, overtime and emergency maintenance.
