2. Minimum Requirements

Toyota maintains high entry standards to ensure apprentices can handle the rigors of modern automotive engineering.

For Millwright Apprenticeship:

  • NTC3 or Technical Matric with a pass in:

    • Mathematics and Engineering Science.

    • Electrical Trade Theory or Mechanical Trade Theory.

For Fitter & Turner Apprenticeship:

3. Key Responsibilities

Apprentices are trained at the Toyota Technical Training Centre and gain hands-on experience on the factory floor:

  • Millwrights: Learning to maintain, troubleshoot, and repair both the electrical and mechanical components of complex production machinery and robotics.

  • Fitter & Turners: Mastering the use of lathes and milling machines to manufacture, fit, and assemble precision metal parts for industrial equipment.

  • Safety & Standards: Adhering strictly to the Toyota Production System (TPS) and global safety protocols.

  • Documentation: Keeping accurate logbooks of all practical work performed to meet trade test requirements.
