Minimum Requirements
To secure a spot within this fast-paced building material supply chain network, candidates must satisfy the following criteria:
A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
Basic numerical accuracy and core computer literacy.
Good verbal and written communication skills in English (multilingualism is a major asset for regional branch locations).
High physical stamina and energy to operate in a heavy-materials retail floor environment (lifting, moving, and packing stock).
Positive, customer-first attitude with a willingness to learn sales processes.
South African citizen aged 18 to 35 with a clear criminal record.
Advantageous: Prior experience or interest in construction materials, hardware tools, plumbing systems, or DIY retail.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Exposure
Learners rotate through various operational nodes to master the mechanics of building material retail management:
Assisting customers on the store floor with hardware component selection, structural item identification, and project requirements.
Merchandising stock, organizing mass storage bins, and ensuring precise pricing displays on shelves and yard rows.
Processing point-of-sale (POS) barcode transactions, handling card/cash receipts, and executing balancing protocols accurately.
Managing inventory movement tracking—receiving bulk deliveries, checking invoices, and logging stock adjustments to prevent shrinkage.
Operating safely within receiving bays, timber yards, and dispatch zones according to internal safety compliance frameworks.
