Positions & Specific Minimum Requirements
1. Gautrain System Cleaners
Requirements: Minimum of Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric) equivalent.
Core Skills: Strong physical fitness, reliability, and an understanding of basic safety hygiene protocols. Prior cleaning experience in a commercial facility or public transport hub is highly advantageous.
Attributes: Complete willingness to work night shifts and early morning cleaning windows.
2. Station Tellers / Ticketing Agents
Requirements: A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate with a fundamental pass in Mathematics or Mathematical Literacy.
Core Skills: Basic computer literacy, numerical accuracy for cash/card handling, and clear communication skills in English.
Attributes: High-energy customer service focus and a professional appearance on the station floor.
3. Transit Security Personnel
Requirements: A completed Grade 12 (Matric) certificate paired with an active, valid PSIRA registration (Grade C or higher).
Core Skills: Clean criminal record (mandatory security background tracking checks apply), physical fitness, and solid conflict-resolution skills.
Attributes: Ability to stand for long periods and maintain high alertness on platforms and control points.
4. Gautrain Bus / Midibus Drivers
Requirements: A completed Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
Core Skills: Valid South African Code EC (old Code 14) or Code C1 (old Code 10) Driver’s License with a currently valid PrDP (Professional Driving Permit) for passengers.
Experience: 2 to 3 years of accident-free commercial bus or heavy passenger transport experience.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Exposure
Cleaners: Maintaining pristine sanitation across transit platforms, seating areas, ticketing gates, and administrative offices to ensure world-class customer environments.
Tellers: Assisting passengers with Swift/Gautrain card queries, processing point-of-sale transit fare arrays, and resolving automated gate issues.
Security: Enforcing platform access control, protecting transport assets, conducting routine property inspections, and maintaining a high visual security presence.
Bus Drivers: Managing feeder route operations safely within the 10 km station radius grid, verifying passenger cards via on-board validators, and sticking strictly to scheduled time windows.
