Vacancy Overview

Purpose of the Role

  • Assist in erection, installation, and maintenance of transformers at Medupi.

  • Ensure compliance with Eskom’s safety standards.

  • Support power generation reliability by maintaining transformer systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Erect and install transformers according to technical specifications

  • Conduct inspections and routine maintenance

  • Assist senior artisans with transformer operations

  • Maintain accurate records of work performed

  • Comply with SHEQ standards and participate in safety meetings

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) certificate

  • N3 qualification in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (advantageous)

  • Valid driver’s licence

  • Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in transformer erection or heavy electrical equipment

  • Knowledge of Eskom site operations (advantageous)

  • Technical knowledge of transformers and heavy electrical systems
