Position Purpose
The Technical Assistant ensures timeous, high‑quality maintenance of equipment and facilities, assisting artisans with inspections, repairs, and restoration to keep infrastructure safe and operational.
Key Responsibilities
Perform maintenance tasks according to job cards and work orders
Investigate equipment faults and assist with restoration
Conduct minor repairs on electrical appliances and building infrastructure
Inspect facilities and report findings
Support artisans with major repairs and servicing
Provide feedback to managers and technical staff
Follow safety procedures and site‑specific requirements
Candidate Requirements
Qualification: Grade 12 (Matric); Technical Matric advantageous
Technical: N4 in Electrical or Mechanical studies
Experience: Minimum 2 years in handyman/maintenance tasks
Other:
Valid South African driver’s licence
Exposure to carpentry, plumbing, painting, and general building work
Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Act
Understanding of ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
First Aid training and relevant site SOP/HIRA training
