Position Purpose
The Fitter ensures mechanical systems and equipment in water treatment plants are maintained and repaired, supporting uninterrupted water purification and distribution.
Key Responsibilities
Install and maintain mechanical equipment such as pumps, valves, and gearboxes
Conduct fault finding and repair defective machinery
Perform preventative maintenance on plant infrastructure
Assist with new installations and upgrades
Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety standards
Safeguard tools and equipment used in maintenance
Candidate Requirements
Qualification: Appropriate Trade Test Certificate (Fitter)
Experience: 2–5 years in mechanical maintenance preferred
Other Requirements:
Valid driver’s licence
Knowledge of mechanical codes and regulations
Ability to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
