Minimum Requirements

  • Education: Grade 12 (NQF Level 4) or N3 with two languages passed

  • Experience: Prior mining exposure advantageous

  • Other:

    • Medically fit (risk-based medical exam)

    • Must pass a Heat Tolerance Screening test

    • Willingness to undergo technical training prescribed by MQA & DMRE

    • Ability to communicate proficiently in English

Host Community Requirements

Applicants must either:

  • Be a resident of Bekkersdaal, Zuurberkom, Thusanang, Hillshaven, Westonaria, Poortjie, Simunye, Kalbasfontein, or Jachtfontein, OR

  • Have passed Grade 12/Matric at a school situated within one of these host communities.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operate winding engines safely and efficiently

  • Assist with shaft operations under supervision

  • Apply safe work practices according to mine standards

  • Identify and report hazards and risks

  • Participate in risk assessments before work is carried out

  • Maintain housekeeping in workshops and work areas
