Position: Artisan Electrician
Overview
Glencore is seeking a qualified Artisan Electrician to support medium-voltage electrical infrastructure across surface and underground mining operations. The role involves installation, maintenance, fault-finding, breakdown response, and ensuring a reliable power supply for mining activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Relevant Electrical Trade Test Certificate
- Full N2 Certificate
- Portfolio of Evidence (PoE), SETA statement of results, or learnership documentation
- Minimum 3 years' experience as an Artisan Electrician in a mining or plant environment
- Medically fit for surface and underground mining work
Key Responsibilities
- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair MV electrical systems
- Perform preventative maintenance and breakdown repairs
- Conduct fault-finding and troubleshooting
- Participate in infrastructure upgrade projects
- Ensure compliance with mine safety standards and the Mine Health and Safety Act
- Maintain maintenance records and technical reports
