Job Description:

As a System Administrator at FNB, you’ll be at the forefront of ensuring effective installation, configuration, upgrade, administration, monitoring, and maintenance of operating system software and hardware. Role Purpose:

Your role involves providing guidance in implementing, installing, configuring, and testing system software across relevant mainframes. You’ll code and automate tasks to optimize processing aligned with business requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Control expenditure and identify process improvements to contain costs.
  • Configure, install, and test system software on mainframe systems and distribution platforms.
  • Monitor IT infrastructure security and efficiency to enhance service delivery.
  • Participate in developmental activities and compile progress reports.
  • Manage risks within your area of responsibility.
  • Deliver excellent customer experiences aligned with organizational values.
  • Foster collaboration and innovation across teams.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

Required Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Control M/O/R certification.

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years in a similar environment, ideally with 1 to 2 years at entry-level management.
  • Experience in batch scheduling, software equivalent, programme/batch monitoring, developer fix application, troubleshooting, analysis protocol, monitoring and command centre knowledge, data processing, infrastructure knowledge, and operating systems knowledge.
  • Redhat Certification preferred.
