Minimum Requirements:

  1. Education and Qualifications:

    • Experience working with Unisolv, a pharmacy management system.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Medication Management:
    • Assist with the sale of Schedule 1 and Schedule 2 medicines or scheduled substances.
    • Aid in the compounding and preparation of non-sterile medicines according to approved formulas and procedures.
    • Help with re-packaging and manufacturing of medicines as per pharmacy guidelines.
    • Manage stock control of Schedule 1 to Schedule 5 medicines, including ordering and distribution.
  2. Prescription Handling:
    • Read and interpret prescriptions, select, manipulate, or compound medicines, and label them appropriately.
    • Ensure accurate dispensing of medication and provide correct instructions to patients.
    • Verify and capture prescription details, ensuring compliance with SAPC regulations.
  3. Customer Interaction:
    • Assist patients with self-medication and front-shop queries.
    • Explain medical aid costs and process paperwork for claims.
    • Provide information to promote health and follow up on script tracking and patient appointments.
  4. Administrative Duties:
    • Maintain accurate customer profiles and manage stock levels.
    • Report low stock levels and stock errors to the dispensary manager.
    • Facilitate stock takes and ensure adherence to Dis-Chem’s standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  5. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Ensure all medications are checked for accuracy and authorized by a pharmacist.
    • Follow procedures for chronic, HIV, AIDS, and oncology medication authorizations.
    • Address errors and resubmit claims as necessary.

  • Miscellaneous Duties:
