About the Cleaner Level 2 Role
The Cleaner Level 2 position is a support role within the healthcare environment. Successful candidates will be responsible for keeping wards, offices, corridors, furniture, equipment, and surrounding areas clean and safe. The role requires discipline, honesty, reliability, teamwork, and the physical ability to perform cleaning duties throughout the working day.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Minimum ABET Level 4, Grade 10, Grade 12 or equivalent qualification

Key Duties and Responsibilities
Successful applicants will be expected to perform general and healthcare-related cleaning duties. Responsibilities include:
- Cleaning floors, walls, corridors, wards, offices, and other assigned areas
- Cleaning low and high surface areas
- Dusting doors, door handles, lockers, beds, furniture, curtains, and blinds
- Washing windows and window frames
- Cleaning outside areas and picking up papers around wards and offices
- Removing waste according to the required standard
- Cleaning fridges and microwave ovens
- Washing cups and utensils in the ward
- Using and controlling cleaning chemicals safely
- Operating heavy-duty cleaning machines when required
- Reporting workplace defects to the supervisor
- Maintaining a clean and secure environment for patients
- Attending to spillages quickly to prevent injuries
- Supplying areas with deodorising blocks, air fresheners, handwashing soap, and toilet paper daily
- Collecting patients’ food and beverages from the kitchen to the wards
- Packing and unpacking linen in the storeroom
- Performing other duties delegated by the supervisor
