Minimum Requirements
A minimum of Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric) certificate depending on the specific facility placement.
South African citizen with a valid Identity Document (ID).
Currently unemployed youth (aged 18 to 35) residing within the local municipality or community where the health facility is located.
Good communication skills and a friendly, empathetic demeanor when dealing with patients.
Physical fitness and ability to undertake manual labor, grounds maintenance, or long periods of standing.
Basic literacy and numerical accuracy (ability to read safety signs, mix cleaning solutions accurately, or organize folder files).
Advantageous: Prior volunteering experience at a local clinic or community care center.
Key Responsibilities & Learning Exposure
Assisting healthcare facility operational teams with overall cleanliness, sanitization, and hygienic upkeep of wards, waiting rooms, and administrative blocks.
Maintaining clinical grounds, managing disposal pathways for general waste, and keeping outdoor patient intake areas clear.
Guiding incoming patients through queue systems, directing visitors to correct medical departments, and checking that sanitation points are fully functional.
Supporting basic administration desks by filing patient folders systematically, updating simple logs, or retrieving records for clinic clerks.
Ensuring total adherence to public health safety guidelines and infection control protocols under direct senior supervision.
