Minimum Requirements
Qualification: National Diploma in Electrical Engineering / Equivalent NQF Level 6
Licence: Valid Code EB driver’s licence
Experience: 3 years in a similar environment
Core Responsibilities
Plan and coordinate activities and operations of the Protection, Test and Metering section at Distribution Business Unit level.
Perform routine tests and inspections on protection equipment.
Investigate protection operations, propose remedies, and ensure prompt implementation upon approval.
Manage electrical equipment testing to determine suitability for connection to the electrical network.
Optimise network operation to enhance power quality and reliability by keeping voltage regulation equipment operational.
Provide training and guidance in maintenance routines on DC systems.
Ensure compliance with governance and legislative requirements, mitigating risks to the municipality.
Monitor financial processes to prevent losses and ensure adherence to regulations.
Offer professional advice and consulting services to relevant stakeholders.
Manage workforce productivity effectively and efficiently.
