Role Overview
Exxaro Resources is seeking two proactive and safety-conscious General Workers to join their team in Durnacol. The role primarily supports environmental sustainability and operational efficiency by assisting with the rehabilitation of mined areas and providing general support to various sections.
Key Responsibilities
Environmental Rehabilitation: Assist in rehabilitating mined areas by filling cracks, planting grass, and eradicating weeds.
Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain small tools and brush cutters according to manufacturer guidelines and safety procedures.
Inspections: Conduct routine pre-use inspections on equipment to identify and report defects or unsafe conditions.
Operational Support: Support supervisors and foremen in daily activities and maintain clean work areas to ensure equipment functionality.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the consistent use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Hazard Identification: Proactively identify and rectify unsafe practices or potential hazards, reporting them promptly to management.
Minimum Requirements
Education: * Grade 10 (Standard 8) or equivalent (Essential).
AET Level 4 (Essential).
Experience: 0–6 months of relevant job-specific experience (Essential).
Assessments: * Must pass a Psychometric Assessment (Essential).
Must obtain a Certificate of Fitness (Medical) (Essential).
Skills: * Proficiency in operating and repairing small tools.
Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
High level of safety awareness and commitment to environmental stewardship.
